China Moses: back to her jazz roots
On the show, we’re at the Toronto Film Festival asking whether the world needs a new Charles Dickens movie adaptation? Director Mike Newell’s version of Great Expectations features heavyweight thesps Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham-Carter, and promises sex and violence according to some of its stars. We’re also meeting jazz singer China Moses. She tells us about breaking out of the jazz stereotypes, and why having Dee Dee Bridgwater as your mum means you grow up with music in the blood.
