Cindy Sherman (February 26 - June 11, New York, USA) 
This  retrospective of this Cindy Sherman, known for conceptual portraits featuring herself disguised as personas that examine the media and the representation of women. The 180 photographs trace the artist's career from the mid-1970s to the present, including her Untitled Film Stills(1977-80) series, society images and the debut of recent murals. 59th Sydney Film Festival (June 6-17, NSW, Australia) 
On the heels of Cannes, Australia's second biggest film festival marks its 59th year with more than 150 films and a program of more than 250 screenings. The Sydney Film Festival (SFF for short) showcases a hand-picked selection of short films, Australian films, documentaries and archive titles -- many of which are world premieres.

18th Los Angeles Film Festival (June 14-24, California, USA)
The LA Film Fest, produced by Film Independent, screens over 200 feature films, shorts and music videos from more than 30 countries, primarily showcasing indie films as well as the high-profile, similar to the Gotham Awards in New York City.

Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs exhibition (March 6 - September 16, Paris, France)
Launching while the world's fashion elite are in the French capital for Paris Fashion Week, the Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs exhibition at the city's museum of Arts Décoratifs will celebrate the fashion house's namesake and its current creative director by comparing and analyzing their achievements during very different time periods. Cirque du Soleil's 'Michael Jackson The Immortal'  (Through July 17, North America) 
Famed high-flying troupe Cirque du Soleil kicked off its tribute to the King of Pop in their own hometown of Montreal on October 2. The lavish dance-filled production is touring North America, and organizers announced that the show will tour the rest of the globe.

North by Northeast (June 11-17, Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
Now in its 18th year, North by Northeast festival and conference celebrates independent music and film with some 650 music acts and 40 films slated this year, in addition to industry panels and talks, with events happening all around Toronto. Acts include The Flaming Lips, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, Bad Religion, Matthew Good, Of Montreal, Purity Ring, and many others. Ticket prices vary.
